The money has to change form first, and it is that change of form \u2014 not the deposit \u2014 that decides who is responsible for it along the way, what it costs, and what the Norwegian Tax Administration will later want documentation of.<\/p>\n
The route has four stops: bank account, exchange, wallet, gaming account. Only the first is covered by the deposit guarantee, and only the first two are under Norwegian financial supervision.<\/p>\n

The front page gathers everything about crypto casino Norway<\/a>.<\/p>\n From bank to exchange.<\/strong> You transfer NOK from your bank account to a crypto exchange, by ordinary bank transfer or with Vipps where the exchange supports it. The amount is still kroner, and it is still a monetary claim.<\/p>\n At the exchange.<\/strong> The kroner are exchanged for a crypto-asset. This is where the most important legal shift happens: you no longer own money, you own an asset. If you go via your own wallet, you control the keys between the two stops and can choose the network yourself. The fourth you cannot.<\/p>\n The Act on crypto-assets applies from 1 July 2025 and implements Regulation (EU) 2023\/1114 on markets in crypto-assets \u2014 MiCA \u2014 in Norwegian law. What used to be a registration scheme for exchange and custody services is now an authorisation scheme: offering crypto-asset services in the EEA requires authorisation as a starting point.<\/p>\n The transition had a deadline, and the deadline has passed. MiCA Article 143(3) allowed undertakings that lawfully offered crypto services before 30 December 2024 to continue \u00abuntil 1 July 2026, or until they were granted, or refused, authorisation\u00bb. After that date Finanstilsynet expects service providers without authorisation to \u00abwind up the business in an orderly manner\u00bb.<\/p>\n That means the question you should ask an exchange in 2026 is no longer whether it is registered. It is whether it has authorisation.<\/p>\n A CASP authorisation is not a package deal. Finanstilsynet grants authorisation for named services, and two authorised undertakings can do completely different things.<\/p>\n AK Jensen Norway AS became Norway's first CASP undertaking, with authorisation with effect from 2 February 2026 under MiCA Article 60 \u2014 for reception and transmission of orders and for portfolio management of crypto-assets. That is not an exchange where you can buy bitcoin over breakfast.<\/p>\n T\u00fdr Markets AS obtained authorisation with effect from 18 May 2026 under Article 63, for four services: custody and administration on behalf of clients, exchange of crypto-assets for funds, exchange for other crypto-assets, and transfer services on behalf of clients.<\/p>\n Firi AS obtained authorisation with effect from 22 May 2026, also under Article 63, but for six services. In addition to the four above, the authorisation states \u00aboperation of a trading platform for crypto-assets\u00bb and \u00abexecution of orders for crypto-assets on behalf of clients\u00bb.<\/p>\n The difference between four and six items is the difference between exchanging for you and running the marketplace you exchange in.<\/p>\n Finanstilsynet's register of undertakings has a separate overview of authorised CASP undertakings, with a filter for Norwegian undertakings and for undertakings across the EEA. There you find the company name, the authorisation and which services it covers.<\/p>\n Three things are worth reading, not just glancing at:<\/p>\n Whether the undertaking is listed there at all. Which services the authorisation covers \u2014 an authorisation for custody is not an authorisation to run a trading platform. And in which country the authorisation was granted: MiCA gives cross-border access across the EEA, so an exchange you use from Norway may hold its authorisation from another EEA country, and it is then the supervisory authority in that country that is yours.<\/p>\n A name in the register says who holds an authorisation. It says nothing about the rate, the fee or the network you choose.<\/p>\n Count it up, because it is more times than most people think. NOK to crypto at the exchange. Crypto in to the casino. The Norwegian Tax Administration treats cryptocurrency as an asset, and realisation is triggered not only by a sale for kroner but also by an exchange for another crypto-asset. A gain is capital income and is taxed at 22 per cent.<\/p>\n It is not the game that creates the most paperwork. It is the legs of the journey.<\/p>\n Practical consequence: note the rate in kroner at the moment you receive a coin. That is your input value, and it is the one you will need again later. The Norwegian Tax Administration requires documentation for costs and losses connected to virtual assets, and a rate you have to reconstruct after the fact is a rate that will cause you trouble.<\/p>\n The fee you pay to move a coin is determined by the network it is moved on, not by which casino receives it.
