Which Nordic countries appear in the companies' own blocked lists

States write rules about companies. Companies write rules about states, in the section on closed countries in their own terms, and that section is the only place where a company says out loud which markets it treats as closed.

Of the hundred crypto casino brands in the fact library, read on 26 August 2026, 38 publish a list readable enough to be recorded. This page counts the Nordic entries in those 38 lists.

Sweden appears in eight of the 38 lists: 7Bit Casino, Bitdreams, Mirax, Oshi Casino, PlayAmo, Slotum, Shuffle and Crashino.

Denmark appears in two: DuckDice and Crashino. Finland appears in one, Winz.io. Norway appears in none of the 38.

That Norway is in none of the 38 blocked lists is information about the companies and not about the state. What the state does is covered on casino without a Norwegian licence. What the companies offer a Norwegian player despite that is gathered on foreign casinos. The ranking itself is on the front page about crypto casino in Norway.

These are small numbers, and they only mean something alongside the countries that dominate the same 38 lists.

Six of Sweden's eight come from lists that shut out almost the whole world

The eight Swedish hits are not eight equivalent decisions. Six of them — 7Bit Casino, Bitdreams, Mirax, Oshi Casino, PlayAmo and Slotum — come from lists of between 216 and 224 entries. A list of that length is not a set of exceptions; it is the world minus the few dozen markets the company works in, written the other way round.

Only two of the eight mention Sweden in a short and deliberate list. Shuffle publishes fifteen entries: «Persons located or resident in Australia, the Cayman Islands, Curaçao, Germany, the Netherlands, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, the United Kingdom, the United States of America». Crashino publishes eighteen, and the text mentions three Nordic countries at once: «Accessing to Crashino.com is restricted for residents in Australia, Denmark, France, Greece, Italy, Israel, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, United States and United Kingdom».

Neither of the two passages has a clause number in the text that was read, and therefore no clause number is given for either of them.

Denmark's two entries split the same way. Crashino is one; the other is DuckDice, where the section is headed «Blacklisted Territories» and lists sixteen countries: Australia, Austria, Belarus, the Comoros, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, the Netherlands, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Spain, Ukraine, the United Kingdom and the United States.

Finland's single hit comes from Winz.io, with a list of 92 entries — long, but not one of the inverted ones.

Norway appears in none of them, and that is not a legal statement

None of the 38 companies mentions Norway. That is information about what those companies have written in their terms, and it answers only that question.

It does not describe Norwegian law, which runs the other way: Norway grants no licence to private companies at all, and section 4 of the Gambling Act makes it unlawful to offer, or to assist in offering, gambling aimed at the Norwegian market without authorisation. The Norwegian state has moreover barred financial intermediaries from handling such payments since 2010. The measures are described on the page about what the states do about companies without a licence.

The two sources do not cancel each other out, because they are not about the same party. The company's terms describe what the company will do. A law passed by the national assembly describes what the company is allowed to do.

That a country is missing from a list is therefore not an advantage and not a permission. It is an empty field, and an empty field only says that nothing was written there.

What the clause actually does when it is there

The most common wording, which repeats almost word for word in the group with the long lists, is that users from the countries mentioned «are not allowed to deposit and play real money games». Some companies put it even more directly: Coins.Game mentions a single country, the Netherlands, and gives the reason — «Due to our gaming license, we cannot accept players from Netherlands.»

Rocketpot writes the same section inside out, as a declaration the customer makes: «You are NOT a resident of a restricted jurisdiction». That inversion is the whole technical point of the topic. In most terms the country is not a filter the company applies at registration; it is something the user declares about themselves by accepting the terms.

The declaration is checked later, against documents, after the verification clause — which, in all 49 clauses read in the library, leaves the timing to the company.

Between the declaration and the check lies the whole period when the money is already on the company's side of the table.

Why one section repeats at brands with no visible kinship

The six brands with a Swedish entry in a list of 216 to 224 countries share more than a text. Several of them are on the same licence registration, and a registration covering several brands tends to produce one set of terms rolled out across several shop fronts.

That is why the wording matches right down to the punctuation. How many registrations there actually are behind the hundred brands is counted up on the page about the licence numbers behind the brands.

How the 38 lists were counted

One list is one brand, not one company. The country is counted once per list even if it appears in several places in the same document, and it is not counted when it only appears in a heading or in an address. Lists that pointed on to another page without reproducing the countries were not counted.

Country names were recorded as they stood. That sounds obvious, but it is the part of the work that produces errors most often: «UK», «United Kingdom» and «United Kingdoms» are the same country in three spellings, and an invisible character in the middle of a word means the search does not find the hit.

The figures in the table above are therefore minimum figures. They cannot be too high, but they can be too low, if a spelling has slipped through.

The 62 without a readable list

For 62 of the hundred brands no list was recorded, and the reasons are of three kinds. For 21 brands nothing opened at all, neither live pages nor archived copies, so every field is blank. At others the section pointed on to a separate page or to a list that is loaded dynamically instead of standing in the terms. At others again no such section was found in the pages that were read.

In none of these cases does a missing list mean that there are no exceptions. It means the list was not read, and that is a different thing to enter in a table.

How the four Nordic licensing schemes themselves differ from each other is described on the page about the supervisory authorities in the Nordics.
